Editor: May 27 letter – “Marxist Propaganda Has No Place in FCPS” – Contains a Number of Flaws and Errors Regarding Simple Instruction to Add to Civics and Social Studies in the Fairfax School System .
What minorities are looking for, and I think this is their due, is the need to be treated equally in all aspects of current and future society without always having to fight for it, like the white community doesn’t seem to have to. Education, the police, the law, housing, rentals, jobs, credit, promotions, insurance and even medicine are designed far from the needs of any minority community.
The idea of ”place” in American society over the past two centuries is certainly worth a class or two in the social sciences. And that means everyone involved: black, white, Asian, immigrant, explorer, landlord, landlord, poor, rich, outlaw and neighbor must be recognized. Nothing wrong with it all. And it is quite obvious that the writer really had no idea what “Marxism” really meant.
The language of the letter comes straight from the playbook of Trumpism to always pretend to be the opposite of their true goals – to keep minorities enslaved.
It seems, however, that children in school today have a much better understanding of equality. They will change current thinking away from the past and make it more correct. Not only do they know the facts, but they have lived them. The old generation can’t do anything about it now.
Bless the children, everyone. They will be right.
