New Delhi: Power Mech Projects Ltd announced on Monday that it had signed a Rs 9,294 crore contract with Coal India CCL branch to develop and operate a mine.

The project was awarded to a consortium of Power Mech and AMR India Ltd. Power Mech is the lead manager of the consortium with a 74 percent stake and AMR India will own 26 percent of the capital.

The contract will include the development of the mining infrastructure, the removal of overburden and the extraction of coking coal, the processing, crushing and transport of the coal to the washing of CCL, the carrying out of activities of R&R and any other activity incidental to mining in accordance with the project document at Kotre Basantpur Pachmo. OCP located in Ramgarh and Bokaro districts of Jharkhand.

The project has a total coal mining capacity of 105 million tons (MT) with an annual capacity of 5 MT and the overburden removal during the project period is over 539 MBCM.

The duration of the concession is 25 years, including a two-year development period with an option to extend the contract for a further 10 years with the agreement of both parties.

A Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) was trained to undertake the project. AMR India is also engaged in contract mining involving operations such as overburden removal, coal / lignite mining, logistics, etc.

The SPV will have the material handling expertise of Power Mech in project development and the technical expertise of AMR India in the area of ​​development of entirely new mining projects.
