Thousands of candidates turned out for the East Africa’s Got Talent by Safaricom pre-auditions which took place on June 1-2 at the KICC in Nairobi County.
It comes after the Mombasa pre-auditions that took place on May 19 and saw hundreds of entrants try their luck for a spot in the next stage of the talent show.
“In our quest for the ultimate talent, we have seen how rich East Africa is through the gifts of each participant. As we look to wrap up the hearings in Nairobi, I would like to urge anyone who feels they have something special about them to come forward and present it to the rest of the world through this platform – no matter your age or your abilities. as long as you believe in yourself, be there and let the world judge, ”said Joseph Kusaga, CEO of Clouds Media International.
The show is produced by Clouds Media and has toured Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda and finally Nairobi, Kenya, which concludes the pre-audition phase and marks the start of the theater auditions.
Interested participants who were unable to attend the pre-auditions can submit their application and a short video clip of their number online at rapidblue.formstack.com/eagt. Alternatively, they can upload a one-minute performance video along with name, age and country to WhatsApp number + 254 (0) 703 437 903. Both platforms will close on June 2.
Safaricom’s East Africa’s Got Talent, due to start airing in August this year, will feature 10 episodes, with the semi-finals and the grand finale filmed live in Kenya.
Qualified participants from Tanzania, Uganda and Rwanda will travel to Kenya for the live performances. The winner will walk away with Ksh. 5 million (50,000 USD) voted by the public.
